Just got done making a card for my mom and actual took the time to get a picture and put it on my computer all on the same day. This card I used a stamp I just recently bought from Cutters Creek called Moments in time by Flower Soft. I also used Flower soft on the card, also from Cutters Creek. I used Bic Mark-It markers to color the girl. I also used Glimmer Mist (Blue Skies and Cranberry Zing) to color the flowers that I cut out using the Cricut.

Pages and a great blog hop!

Here are the pages that I have been working on for the past week. I love this one! I set it all up on my gypsy. Everything cut out perfectly except for the frame behind the picture but I worked it out. THe second frame behind the picture I used Blue skies Glimmer Mist on it, I could of used blue paper but I wanted so badly to use GM! LOL I also used Graphite GM on the flowers. The Love was cut out using Gypsy Font (such a cool font) and I used American Crafts glitter cardstock and thanks to help from Kim at Cutters Creek online store I was able to cut it out properly on the cricut without wasting the wonderful glittery paper.

I created this one on the gypsy too, sorta. I didn’t know where I was going to put the butterfly or the joy cutout I just knew I wanted them. The top and bottom borders were cut using Gypsy Wanderings. Actually the butterfly and the Joy was cut using GW too. I also used more AC Glitter cardstock on the joy and butterfly and then I used cotton candy stickles (which I am now almost out of..eek!) for the border around each one. ANd the star cut out on the butterfly and the middle of the flower on joy I used True Blue Stickles. The picture on the left is matted on blue paper the same as the background but I put it through the cuttlebug using the dot folder.

Everything was cut out using the cricut. Sassy is from the Paisley cart (have I mentioned lately how much I love it) I then used stardust stickles on the shadow for sassy and put some rhinestones from Michaels randomly on the word, you can barely see them though. Love me some stickles!!!

Two Layouts

I finally took pictures of the layouts I did over the weekend, the ones I didn’t like very much. Surprisingly the more I look at them the more I like them. I think its because I have forgotten how it was supposed to look and have accepted the way the do look, or something like that anyway. However, the one thing that I really, really, really love is my Gypsy. This thing is so awesome. I have been spending so much time playing with it: planning out my layouts, searching through the carts I do own to try to find the right cuts I want for each layout, fiddling with sizes etc. These two layouts I did not plan on the Gypsy however the three that I have been working on this week were and I have loved how they have turned. I think that I have used the Cricut more in the last week than I had like the first year I had it. Usually I would get to lazy to pull out each book and try to imagine and picture what would look best or try to guess what exact size I needed without wasting paper so I usually just gave up and just used it for the title or maybe a flower. I am finally using my carts to their almost full potential. Anyway, here’s the layouts:

Left side: Sugar and Spice were cut out using Jubilee cartridge and the sucker I used Paisley (I so love this cartridge), sweet ws also cut out using Paisley. I put stickles on the words and the swirly thing on the sucker. The bottom of the picture on the left I used a MS border punch.

the words on this one, I used a different cartridge for each word. And was all one word, everything I cut using the Wild Card cartridge. The saying was actually thanks for everything but I was able to hide the other words and just use everything which is one of the best thing about the Gypsy.

I think I used Jubilee for the letters on this one but I’m not absolutely positive. I’m still not 100% on this one but its better than the 40% I was a few days ago. I’m just really glad I have the pictures of my son and hubby working on this together!

Scrappin’ Space

I finished two layouts today! Don’t really like the way they turned out though! UGH! I really hate when what you picture in your head does not translate onto paper. I did get pictures though and will share them. But first I wanted to share my scrap space. I had done this a few years ago, but I have changed things a bit since. My hubby helped me and things are a bit more organized and laid out then they were.

The shelf on the left I had it just sitting on my desk before but it obviously gave me more space hanging from the wall. The corkboard on the right used to be where the new shelf is hanging and halfway hidden by the corkboard. Now I have more room to hang stuff from. On my table is a layout waiting to happen. Its one of the ones I finished today. To the right of my Cricut is a basket full of cotton yarn and under that is my drawers of stickers, flowers, etc. and paper.

American Idol Results Show

Lee Dewyze!!! Can’t wait to hear him! Group sing----it started off good,except they seem to have microphone problems or something. Jacob you could only hear about two words, then the girls came in and you couldn’t hear them at all. The chorus they seem to have it all back together. Whew cuz that was about to be bad! I am pretty sure they are lip synching so I don’t know what happened with that. It sounded a lot better than last week that was for sure, even with the sound errors. I have always loved the group commercials, I always think they are so cute and look like would be so fun to make and be a part of.

Has anyone seen the new Cricut cartridges coming out this month? Wow! They look so awesome. The pop up cards one looks so cool I want it like right now. And there’s the damask one I think it’s called…something like that..but it looks so pretty and I think there was one more that I wanted but I can’t remember. I have added them to my list of must have cricut cartridges! and the commercials are still going on! UGH!

American Idol

I love American Idol, but I'm not sure I love these contestants as much as the judges seem to. My favorites are James, Scotty and Naima

Naima- man I really wish she would go back to singing like she did during the auditions. I love her energy, stage presence and her voice but she has been sounding so off the last two weeks. I hope if she makes it she just sings next week until she can work on putting her movements, singing and energy all together.

Paul- I don't know what to think about him. I did like his performance last night a lot better than last week. I did discover that if I closed my eyes or didn't look at the t.v. it sounded a lot better. His dancing and that arm going up and down is so distracting

Thia- BORING! BORING! BORING!

James- Love Bon Jovi- I don't think he was as good as last week, but I still really like him. And its not like he was horrible last night just a little off. I think all of the contestants are either sick, getting over being sick, or about to be sick.

Haley-all kinds of weird, including the lipstick smeared all over her teeth and chin! Randy mentioned that she need to figure out who she is because she is singing all different genres etc. But I don't mind that, to me she's just singing songs that she likes. However I really thought she was singing out of her nose last night and it was very irritating.

Stefano- I definitely think this was the best he has ever done.

Pia- don't get me wrong she has a great voice, but she is so pageantry to me. She reminds me of Kathryn McPhee from a few seasons ago. And I didn't like Kathryn.

Scotty-I just love him! It drives me so crazy that everyone gets so irritated that he always sings country. When I like someone I want to hear them sing something other than what I fell in love with them for. I love Nickelback but if they suddenly came out with a country album I would be scratching my head. I think with Haley she is still trying to find herself which is why she is singing everything. Scotty already knows what he wants why does he have to change?

Karen-to overly dramatic

Casey- Screamy, Screamy, Screamy!

Lauren Alaina- I want to like her, and she's not bad singing. I actually like her singing but I think she is a bit to immature. But it doesn't come across with her singing just when she is just doing her interviews. But considering she is only 15/16 I guess that is understandable.

Jacob-I have not liked at all and last night did not help. I never saw the one song he sang that everyone has raved about but from what I have seen he hasn't done good since that song that was supposedly so wonderful.

So I don't know who is leaving I just hope its not one of my faves! I'm thinking Karen, Haley or Jacob/Casey

I have since added extra stars over the other ones to make them pop up! I really like the way both of this came out. The chillin’ was from the cricut cartridge Paisley and I think the stars were from Plantin Schoolbook. The silver star is american craft glitter paper. Once I learned how to cut this stuff I am so loving it! The checked paper I have had for like 10 years, no clue what I was holding onto it for, glad I finally used it though!

American Idol Elimination Episode!

Wow I wish Adam had sang more like that when he was on AI as a contestant. Although I have liked all the music he has come out with since he left AI. Didn’t P.Diddy sing this song last year on AI? I know I have heard it before and I think I have only ever seen him perform on AI..but I could be wrong. Don’t know where else I could of heard it though. Anyway. I agree with the bottom three, Ashthon, Karen and Hayley. I really don’t think the girls are as good as the guys. Naima is the only girl I like and truthfully James and Scotty are the only guys I like. I think it would be awesome if those three make it to the top 3! While we are waiting to get to the results I will tell you about something crafty I did the other day. I altered a picture frame. It turned out pretty good for it being my first time. I made it to match the altered composition book I did a few weeks ago. I have already delivered it to the person that is going to give it as a gift, and I didn’t get a picture of it because it had the girls name on it, but trust me it is very nice! : )

And the contestant being voted off is ASHTHON!!! YEA! I thought they wasted the WC pick on her last week! I think she just picks the wrong songs, her voice is not as big as she thinks it is and her saying “hey” all throughout each song is just obnoxious.

Long time no see

So I have several things to share with you that I have been working on lately. The first are some altered composition books I made. One was for my daughter and the other one was for a friend of my friends.

Then I made a couple birthday cards and a congratulation on your wedding card for some friends/family.

This card I used flower soft for the first time. Not sure if I like it or not though.

This card I used my favorite stuff ever! Stickles

I think this card is so pretty but it was so quick and easy to make. I couldn’t figure out what kind of picture/stamp to put on the card and then I saw their pictures posted and knew that was what had to go there.I used stickles and flower soft on this as well.

Last thing I worked on was scrapbook pages! I haven’t scrapped in what feels like forever.

This two page layout used several random pictures of my son. I basically threw it all together. But really liked the way it turned out. Its hard to do (at least for me) to do layouts about him unless its something specific that the pictures are about. Like with my daughter you can always just through some flowers or cutesy stuff on the page. Like this! This is one is one of my favorite pictures of her. I have waited a loooong time to scrapbook this page. I love the way it turned out! I made the flowers using my gypsy and some glitter mist! I cute sweetheart out using my gypsy, paisley cart (my favorite cart ever). I had cut out a lot more flowers and was contemplating adding them to the page too. But I think this was perfect. The next picture I have to scrapbook is a single black/white picture of my son. Taken the same day as the above picture of my daughter. however I can’t figure out what embellishments to use for it! Wish me luck

Below are pics of my thank you cards. Here is my first attempt:

I wasn’t sure about it and when I showed it to hubby he mentioned that he didn’t like the white strip on the side and Iagreed, there was just to much white.

So I added the light blue for the background

But then I ran out of blue and picked the neon green! LOL! I used my gypsy to cut the thank, the you and the heart. I can’t remember what carts I used though I embossed all three using my cuttlebug.

Here’s the scrapbook page that I completed. I didn’t think I was going to like it once I glued down all the pieces but I actually do. I think it’s the colors that I like the most. Stylin’ I cut out using my 9.99 paisley cart. I love this cart so much it is so cute. It totally reminds me of my daughter so its fitting that the first time I used it was on a layout of her. One of the words you can cut out on it is “feisty” which really made me laugh out loud because that was the word the nurses at the hospital used to describe her after she was born! Anyway I used, I think, Gypsy wanderings for the flowers and the centers have a dot of stickles on them. The purple background paper is Bazill but all the other paper is scraps. I absolutely love doing the feather and fan pattern. Even though there are 212 stitches this pattern goes by so quickly. It still feels like I am going to be knitting this forever before its done but I have made quite a dent in it. I am also going to have to get a lot more yarn than I originally bought. I have gone through a lot more yarn already than I thought I would. I only have 2.5 more skeins left and I’m not even halfway done yet. I think I am doing something wrong.

I finally made my thank you cards!!!!! Not only did I finish the cards but I also completed a scrapbook layout!!!!! WOW!!! That is quite an accomplishment! I don’t think I have worked on a scrapbook page in like six months. And you know I’ve been putting off the cards all year. LOL! I have pictures of them and will put them up soon!

Annoy the crap out of me!!!! I have been watching the news the past week over the guy “with the golden voice” from Columbus, Ted Williams..maybe they should of checked his history before they made him a “star” because it hasn’t even been a week and they are already throwing him under the bus. I have been watching the interview he has been doing with Dr. Phil and Dr. Phil has brought up everything wrong thing he has done over the past 20+ years. Did Ted Williams have a shady past? YUP, there’s no doubt. But has he deserved what the media has done to him this past week, nope. I really hope he succeeds and does well and stays clean. Today watching Dr. Phil I felt so bad for Ted, his kids where there, his ex-wife was there and they all got their chance to point out how much he has disappointed them. At least his ex has said she had forgiven him a long time ago. The poor guy looked like a deer in head lights. He isn’t a celebrity he’s just a regular person that has screwed up, yet the media acts like he was perfect and has done all this screwing up in the past week. I really believe he needed to have that meeting with his family, but he needed it in privacy not for the whole world to see. Leave him alone and let him try to get on with his life. I really hope Dr. Phil was sincere when he said he wanted to stay in his life and help him. However since I saw the previews for tomorrow and its another episode with Ted, I am really starting to think that he is only doing it for the ratings.

Day 1-Mom’s afghan

A few years ago I made a feather and fan blanket for my younger sister and her hubby. I made it with homespun yarn I think I have pictures of it somewhere on the this blog. After I made that I made my mom and afghan. I used a pattern I found in the creative knitting magazine. I guess she really liked the look of Ali and Rich’s blanket though so over this past Christmas she asked me to make one like that for her. I was a bit worried, she told me she wanted blues, browns, and grey’s in the blanket but she was very particular about the blues. I looked at so many different types of yarn combinations at Michaels I was driving myself crazy but I couldn’t decided on anything. I was telling my older sister about this and she said well you know whatever you decide she will love. So that comment did make me feel a bit better, but I would feel even better if I knew for 100 percent that she likes it as well. Anyway…above is my first day of rows. I am using Country Loom yarn. The darker color is called landscape and has blues, and browns in it. The lighter color is called shale and has browns, cream and grays. It really looks so much prettier in person. I really hope she likes it!

From now on the discussion will be …I will get the cards done when they are done..how’s that? Its to much pressure otherwise! : ) LOL!!! Anyway I did go back to Michaels again today, I had a coupon for 10% off yarn and I needed to get yarn for my mom’s afghan so it worked out perfectly. Below is a picture of the yarn I decided to get. She said she wanted blues, browns and grays….however she was being very difficult when it came to exactly what color of blue she wanted so I just had to take the plunge and pick something. I also got these really cute initial hooks for my daughter and nephews. My daughter and I painted hers and are currently waiting for them to dry so that her dad can hang them up. They are so cute! Oh and I just wanted to share a picture of my gypsy!!!

9.99 Cricut cartridges!

No crafting today!! Oops! Craft buying though!!!!! I had heard from one of my online craft groups that Michaels had some cricut cartridges on sale for 9.99. The ad I read said it wasn’t supposed to start until Sunday, but I thought I would go and see today just in case. I had to show a rental property I manage which is in the area that Michaels is so I thought It was the perfect time to check it out. So after I showed the rental I went to Michaels. While I was driving to Michaels it was snowing! IT looked so pretty. Anyway, Michaels just had a bin in the front of the store which I assume at some point held several dozen cartridges but by the time I got there they only only had two left of Jubilee and about 9 left of Paisley. I grab the Paisley cart and started walking around to see what other deals they had. I grabbed a paisley embossing folder for my cuttlebug. Also grabbed three extra stylus’ for my gypsy they had on sale for 3.99 and a white pen I have needed forever. I then decided to go back up and grabbed the Jubilee cart just because. I never ever would of bought either of these carts if they had cost anymore than 9.99. I remember when Paisley first came out I thought ewww. I don’t like that. However after adding it to my gypsy and checking it out the booklet. I absolutely love it! It is so cute. THe sayings on it are adorable and all the little figures on it are so cute!! I am so glad I got it! Tomorrow(hopefully) I plan on getting my thank you cards done! Crossing fingers> At this point it isn’t lack of time its just being to lazy to get in there and get them done. I have been doing laundry, and I cooked dinner so I didn’t waste the whole day! I also watched the Grey’s anatomy from the other day! Awesome episode. And now I am catching up on the depressing Interventions that I have dvr’d over the past month! Now hopefully the next time I post will be my thank you cards!

Five days in a row?!?!?! WOW!!

Wow! What a shock I have posted on my blog for five days in a row!!! I also just realized that I never went and looked for a different background for the blog! OOPS! Today was another boring day at the office! What fun! But I got paid for it! So wooohooo!!! I did realize that my son has a basketball game on Friday, which was my planned night to make my thank you cards. The game is at 6 though we should be home by 8, so as long as I stay motivated I should still be able to come home and get to work on them rather than sit in front of the tv. Especially since Friday is no longer really a good day for tv. Remember back in the day when Fridays had some of the best tv on it? I’m watching Paula Abdul’s new show, Live to Dance. It looks pretty cute. I guess the first episode was on last night but I was watching Biggest Loser instead. Paula is totally different than when she was on American Idol. I don’t know if I will continue to watch this show but it’s a good show to watch when nothing else is on at 8pm on Wednesday night. Anyway, as you can tell I like to ramble…a lot. And tend to jump from one topic to another. I even confuse myself sometimes! Well have a good night!!!!! See you tomorrow for my 6th day of blogging in 2011!!!!!

Working Girl

That’s what I was today, and it looks like I am going to be that for the rest of the week! Woohooo because of the $$$$, boohoo because of no crafting time!!! Hubby is going to a friends house friday night, I think, to “jam”. So I think I will work on my cards then! I have a plan!!! Today was a lot less hectic than yesterday! THank goodness! I thought I was losing my mind yesterday! It helped that I knew what I was doing today and planned for that rather than being totally thrown for a loop yesterday. I even managed to get some time on the treadmill today..45 minutes to be exact. I do have all the cuts ready to go on my gypsy and all the paper picked out for my cards. I did realize that I have, I think, 2 more thank you cards to make then I originally thought. I just have to double check my list and see if it is 1 or 2 more. I can’t wait til I get a chance to do it! I may even do a scrapbook page or 2. I am thinking about doing one about my new twin nephews that were born last June. I have about 100 pictures of their first two months of birth printed out just siting in my basket collecting dust. I may even, if I feel adventurous make a scrapbook for my sister. But I don’t’ know about that. I am afraid I will start and never get finished and I will hate that. I have way to many unfiinished projects sitting around. One other goal that I do have that I have yet spoke out loud or on this blog is to blog everyday this year. So far I have done it, but its only been four days…..lets see how long I can go! Now I’m off to go catch up on all the blogs I follow and look for a new background for this one!

Ugh! So much for me getting my Thank you cards done by Wednesday. Hopefully by this weekend. I found out this morning that I needed to go to one of our other offices to work as admin. I really enjoy it, but when I have plans to do one thing and something else comes up that stinks. The other frustrating thing about that was that I had to come home to change before I could go over to the other office, only my father in law had my house keys. I thought the set that I had was the spare, except it wasn’t. So no biggie right since my father in law lives down the street. Only he wasn’t home and no one knew where he was. I was freaking out til I remembered that I had an extra key for their house. Funny how I have a spare key for my in laws house but not my own..anyway.. I managed to get changed and out to the other office by 11:30. I think I am going to be out there all week. Yea for the money!!! Boo for not getting any crafting time in. I’m now watching the new season of The Bachelor. The 2nd season with Brad Womack. What an idiot he is! Or are the women the idiots???

To craft or not to craft!

I had so much fun messing around with my gypsy yesterday! I have a few files on it that I need to cut out so that I can make my Christmas thank you cards. The thank is already cut out. I should probably get in there and finish them up, since we all go back to school/work tomorrow and I don’t know if I will have or make time after that. The only thing so far that is really bugging me about the gypsy is I can’t figure out if you can do fit to page. I have looked all through the directions and have looked through so many messages on the boards that my eyes are starting to cross, but can’t find anything. I am guessing you can’t do it but if you can’t do it then how do you make sure that you get..for example..a box at the max cut out size. I have tried to enlarge it just using the increase button but it looks weird to me when I do that. I have printed out a file someone made for the wild cards cart that shows the max size for the cards. I wonder if someone has something similar for tags, bags boxes and more??? Hmmm….

Oh and totally forgot! I need to get these Christmas decorations down, except I don't want to. Mainly because I looooove, love, love Christmas time, but the other reason is because there is so much stuff! ARGH!

Gypsy!

OMG! I love this thing!!!! I have been reading the message boards on the cricut site, watching videos, and reading blogs this past week in order to figure out how to work this thing. I charged it up, updated, got the 5 free cards, and uploaded all my carts to it. But had yet to hook it up to my cricut. I finally got the nerve to do this today, about 5 minutes ago. OMG! It is so awesome all the things you can do with it. I had design studio, but only the trial version and when my computer that I had it down started acting up I stopped using it. Its quite a pain to use your cricut with just the cricut and the carts. The gypsy makes it all a breeeze. Granted I have only cut out 6 thank words, but it was just awesome! I can’t put it into words! I love it! Thank you Nate!!! I hope to get my thank you cards done by Wednesday, get pictures and get them sent out!

Woohooo!! Nate got me a Cricut Gypsy for our anniversary on Christmas Eve! I never wanted one because i didn't want to pay the $$$$$ for it, so all the messages about it I never paid much attention to. I was terrified of it at first, and ask the cricut group I am in..HELP! I finally got it charged up, updated and received the five free cartridges!!!!! YEA!!!!!

I haven’t done any crafting for the past few days. We’ve been busy. Friday we went to Water Country USA. Saturday was hubby’s birthday and we went to a barbecue and then went to see an awesome concert! We saw CrEED!!!!! What an awesome concert! We got to see them last year and this year was even better! Sunday I had to recover from the previous busy week and catch up on all the laundry. Monday was my daughters birthday. We took her and three of her BFF’s to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner! They all had tons of fun. Today was spent playing with my daughters new toys and grocery shopping. One of the things we got her for her birthday was her own 12X12 scrapbook kit. So she now has her own paper, her own sleeves and her own book. So tomorrow we will be scrappin’! I wonder how long she will last before she just has to have something of mine!

Before I made the two cards yesterday I worked on a scrapbook layout. I saw a similar picture layout the other day I think at one of the many blogs I have been looking at over the past week or two. However I do not remember who’s it was. The grass, the title and the tree were cut using my Cricut and Plantin schoolbook. The flowers and butterflies are clear stamps from I think Michaels.

Day 5 of the KAL and a layout!

I got a bit behind posting pictures of the KAL. I am now on day five. I wish I would of used another color but it is what it is.

Its a super easy pattern, just knits and pearls but the pattern looks so neat!

Now on to the layout. I got the idea for it from the Scrapbooks etc.magazine page 18. I have seen so many pages with butterflies on them looking like they were in flight and thought this background paper worked really well with the added butterflies. The paper is by SEI, the same that I used with the birthday card last week. The only disappointing part was putting the scrapbook page in its sleeve and seeing my butterflies smooshed! : (

Crafty Day

Yesterday was a very crafty day. I did use up some scraps and made four cards, and also got one scrapbook page done! I also finished a washcloth for one of my nephews, as well as finishing a dishcloth that has been sitting in my basket for ..well I don’t know how long. Probably 8 months if not longer! I also set out some yarn so that I can start on Rachels’ knitting room’s monthly KAL. Here are the pictures of the cards and the scrapbook page:

The first two cards I got the idea from Papercraft magazine, the next two cards I just threw together I used two stamps I have never used before and all the paper I used was scraps. Today I am on a mission to use up my scraps. I saw a good idea on a blog the other day were they said to put small scraps in a basket and left on their desk in front of them, so they were readily available. SO I hunted down a basket and stuck all my small pieces in there. Then the really cool thing I got the new issue of papercraft magazine and they had some really cool ideas for making cards using your scraps. I am also trying to ignore the fact that my son and hubby are taking a love seat out to the trash. I want it gone but I also don’t. We just don’t have the room for it anymore. : ( I’m gonna take some pictures!

Windows Live Writer

I was reading http://billiesscrappetique.blogspot.com/ blog today and she was talking about this program called Windows Live Writer and I thought I would check it out. I don’t blog often but maybe now that I can do it without being online I will do it more. I’m still clicking around on things trying to figure it out. One of the things that I have the hardest time with is getting pictures on my blog. I just don’t like the way it is set up and can’t figure out if I am doing something wrong or if its blogger. That is how I am spending my Valentine's Day. Got two scrapbook pages done and then came to a screaching halt because out of all the paper that I have I do not have the right paper for these pictures. Grrr! Nate is going to go to the store for me in a bit, and I am giving him the pictures so that he can get a good idea of the colors I need! The Dayton 500 is on, currently under red flag conditions. I am about to go grab my cousin's baby blanket and get that finished..I need it done soon!!!!!! And I am doing laundry and laundry and more laundry!!! Ugh!~ I hate laundry. Everything else is fun except for the laundry! LOL!

Random thoughts

I think I am going to try and start blogging more. I haven't been scrapbooking much, either not enough time or no creative energy. Or a combination of them both. I did do two pages over the weekend but I didn't like the way they turned out so I haven't taken any pictures of them. I have been knitting trying to get the blanket finished for my cousin's baby so that I can get started on the blankets for my sisters babies. So anyway instead of this blog being just about scrapbooking and knitting I am going to try to start filling it up with my random odd ball ramblings. Anyone one that knows me knows I can ramble! But also to remember stuff that my kids do and say. Like Kaitlyn the other day who is really excited that her Aunt Ali has two babies in her stomach. We were watching the Today show and they were showing a woman give birth via c-section. Kaitlyn saw the baby come out and said is there another one? We also saw a woman last week on tv that was pregnant and Kaitlyn asked how many babies she had in her belly! On top of rambling I like to rant. I usually rant about stupid stuff I see or hear about on the news. Like today when I heard that Gloria Allred is representing another one of Mr. Woods mistress'. They are going to sue some company that has put pictures of the mistresss' on some golf balls. Because it promotes violence. Ms. Allred and this woman gave a press conference about how horrible it is because golfers hit these golf balls with such force and since the women's faces are on them it could lead to them commiting abuse, or some such crazy crap like that. I was driving down the freeway listening to this story with my mouth hanging open. Oh the mistress also claims that Mr. Woods loved her and wouldn't want the pictures on the golf balls either. Sorry lady but the only person Mr. Woods loves is himself. I think that is it for right now. BBL!

New Moon and Christmas cards

New Moon was fantastic!!!!!! I would love to be able to go see it again! Maybe hubby and I can go see it again before it leaves the theater and I for sure will be buying it when it comes out on DVD. It definitely lived up to the hype and was a lot better than Twilight. Considering the fact that out of the four books I hate New Moon the most, I find it interesting how much I liked the movie. Probably because I have gotten over my hatred for Jacob for the most part since reading all four of them! It follows New Moon the book a lot better than Twilight followed the Twilight book.

The Christmas cards are coming a long great! I have completed 27, I am taking a break from #28 right now. I have taken pictures of all of them just haven't gotten them off the computer yet. And for the first time ever I actually like the majority of them. I think there is only like 1 or 2 that I'm not happy with. So yea me!!

Cricut and card making!!!

My goal is to make 45 Christmas cards by the second week of December, hopefully sooner. I have completed 6 cards so far, and I just started yesterday. The patterned cardstock is made by Three bugs in a rug..the snowmen is on one side and the snowflakes are on another. The snowflake I cut using the cricut and the Joys of the Season cartridge (love this cartridge) I used baby blue stickles on the flake I don't think you can tell by the picture though. The Happy Holidays stamp is stamping up and the white block that the HH is stamped on is also stamped around the edges using Martha Stewart stamp ink.
This card below uses patterned cardstock from Imgainisce. It is so pretty. The striped paper in the corner is glittered and the brown paper on the bottom has dots of glitter all around it. The snowman stamp is by Hampton Art and it is colored using Bic Mark-its and I also added Frosted Lace Stickles for the snowman and Black Diamond Stickles for the hat. The two snowflakes are from a Martha Stewart punch and have baby blue stickles on them. I can't remember where I got the Let it Snow ribbon from

The patterned paper on this card below is also from Three Bugs in a Rug and the stamps on the right are from a huge stamp set I got from Michaels two years ago. They are colored with various colors of stickles and colored pencil. The tree stamp is from studio G and the quote stamp is from Stampin up. It says Wishing you a never-ending season of love and peace.

This card is by far my favorite card I think. The noel is stamped with light blue ink from Martha Stewart and then embossed using Detail Clear embossing powder from Stampendous. The patterned snowflake paper is from a paper pack I got from Walmart a long time ago and have no clue who made it. The snowflakes are stamped and embossed as well. The only thing I don't like about this card is that I couldn't get the snowflakes stamped evenly.

This card would probably be my second favorite. I cut the snowflakes using vellum and the Joys of the Season cartridge. I have had this vellum for years and always forget about it and don't have anyway of using it. I saw somewhere online that someone used vellum to make snowflakes and thought it was such a cute idea I had to try it. The blingy brad in the middle I think is making memories from Michaels. Seasons Greetings is stamped on the bottom I'm not sure how well you can see it I tried embossing it to make it stand out better but not sure that worked.

This last card uses that same snowflake paper from above from Three Bugs in a Rug. The snowflake is cut using the Joys of the Season cartridge and stickled with Frosted lace. It is also stamped on the bottom with Seasons Greeting stamp which oh by the way is from Stampin Up too.

Most of these cards have come from sketch and card ideas I have found from various sketch and card blogs that I follow. Thanks for looking!

Due to the fantastic help I received from the wonderful women in the cricut lovers yahoo group I was able to come up with a title for the scrapbook layout I was struggling with. I decided to go with Little Cuties

Last Tuesday my mother in law asked if I could make her some "I've moved" cards for one of her clients that had just bought a new house. She needed them by Friday, and I ended up waiting until the last second (thursday night) and made 14 of them. I think they turned out rather well. I used the Accent Essentials cartridge to make the scalloped squares and then used Stampendous stamps and Magenta stamps to finish the card.

That's it!

Here are the cards that I made a few weeks ago on WCM day. I almost forgot to get a picture of them. I think they actually look better in the picture then they do IRL. lol. The pumpkin is from the Pooh cartridge, the Happy birthday stamp is from Inkadinkadoo and i of course had to put stickles on it!
Now for the help part. Above is a layout I am working out. I have been racking my brain for a title for the past week and can't come up with one. The title would go on the brown paper to the left of the flowers. The pictures are of my dd when she was 11 months old and the little girl I used ot babysit for that was 3 months old. Any ideas?

It started two weeks ago on World Card Day when I sat down and made four cards. I had said before that I was going to scan them and share but I haven't done it yet. I do have scrapbook pages to share though! I have gotten two done!! I know it doesn't sound like a lot but since I have't scrapbooked since April that is a lot!! I am now working on the 23rd scrapbook page for the year..I don't think I am going to get to my goal of 52 though. : ( Anyway here are the two completed layouts.

OOPS I lied..I totally forgot about this layout. This was the last layout I did before I got too busy and lost my mojo back in April. I never got around to posting it back then.

This layout has been waiting since June to get done. The pictures and the paper have been sitting on my desk since then. The letters had been cut with my cricut and sitting on the sticky strip from my Xyron through September. So yea its finally done! I don't like it too much but I am so happy it is done. The butterflies where cut using the Pooh cartridge I believe and they are blinged up with some stickles!

I absolutely love this layout! I think this is the first time in 8 years I have ever said that about a layout. I just love the papers, colors, embelishments and most importantly the pictures. I just love it! I actually used the Joys of the Season cartridge on this layout. I made the 10 tag with it.

It is/was world card making day today and I actually participated! I didn't get any cards completed but I got four almost put together. Just waiting for the stickles to dry on the pumpkins and I can finish them up. All the cards are the same so I will post one tomorrow or rather later on today since it is 12:19am. It's been a long time since I have posted on this blog. Considering this is the first time I have posted using my laptop I know it's been since before August 11. I haven't scrapbooked or done any cards since...uh??? I have no clue when so that would explain the lack of blogging! lol

This card I made for a special occasion challenge on one of the yahoo groups that I am in. Its the first time I have ever done this. The butterfly was cut from the Tinkerbelle cricut cartridge and i have used stickles on it. The black and white paper is made by Prima Marketing and the Happy Birthday stamp is made by Inkadinkado. The ribbon is from Michaels it comes on really small spools and I can't remember who makes it. I have been wanting to use this ribbon for a long time because I think it is so pretty so for this I basically worked the card around the ribbon. Then last night I worked on this next card. Its a thank you card for a super nice person that sent me a super nice gift the other day.

I have stickles on this card too of course!!! The thank you stamp I have no clue who makes it but i got it in a package from Walmart with a bunch of different Thank you phrases. Iused Staz On to stamp and it stamped so beautifully. The paper I think is from the paper pack I got from Me and My Big Ideas, the ribbon...from Michaels I think its the same brand as the one in the picture up there. And the flowers are from Bazzill. Man I love these flowers and they are almost gone!!! I think that's it. Off to go work on this scrapbook page with the pictures that have been sitting on my desk forever. Have to figure out what color papers I need to use and decide if flowers and butterflies will work on a page about dinner time. Thesketch that I have picked out for these pictures have flowers and butterflies as the embellishment I know that I don't have to use them that I can use something else but my mind is drawing a complete blank with what to use as an alternate embellishment on dinner pics. And really all I am doing now is rambling on so that I can finish out this little

space on here!

Mother's day gift and scrappy idea!

So the week before last I saw a Michaels ad that said that Disney Cricut cartridges were going to be on sale the week before Mother's day for 29.99. Considering the fact that they are normally 89.00 dollars that is a super deal. So I told Nate and he said well I know what I am getting you for Mother's day. Well then i was thinking that 2 would be even better. Because he would save so much money if he bought me two! lol My logic is astounding!!! Anyway boy was I shocked when he got me all three that I wanted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He also bought me roses and a beautiful card!!

So a few weeks ago I asked the ladies in the scrapbooking group I help moderate how they store their ribbon. Up to this point I had been storing it in this plastic bin that has all these seperated square sections. I had taken all the yarn off the spools, wrapped it around these cardboard pieces and stored it in there. But once that was filled and I started getting more yarn I just threw it in a shoe box but soon that got filled up. So I was trying to come up with a easy cheap way to store yarn that would also make it easily accessible since I also hate taking it off the spools and it just hanging there. So i know they sell all these different kinds of bags and stuff were you put the ribbon inside and pull it out through the hole and I thought well maybe I can make my own. We eat a lot of lunch meat around here and I get the Deli Selects kind that comes in those plastic Glad reusable containers so we have tons of these so I thought why don't I put them to good use. And I poked holes in the tops of two of them and stuffed them with ribbon and pulled the ribbon through the holes. And this is how it turned out:

I haven't used it yet so I don't know how tangled up they are inside there. Hopefully not to bad and that they will work like I want them too. i have 14 ribbons in each. I have enough ribbon left to fill up two more. At least that is until I get some more!

Happy Mother's Day!!!!!!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful mother's day!!!! I know I am. My mother in law gave me a card with a Starbucks gift card in it!!! YEA!!!! Starbucks is yum!!!!! Then this morning hubby went to Starbucks and brought me back a yummy cappuccino. And I told him two weeks ago that Michaels was having a sale on all their Disney cartridges. And when I mentioned that it was also the week of Mother's day he said oh I know what I am going to get you then. There was only three that I wanted. The Mickey and friends cart, the pooh and friends cart and the Tinkerbell one. So then I thought well if he can get me one, he can get me two cuz 29.99 for a cart is a super good deal. However, guess what he did he bought me ALL THREE OF THEM!!!!!! And he also bought me a beautiful card and some beautiful peachy colored roses!!!! He also made breakfast burritos for me the kids and his mom! Man they were yummy! He also loaded the dishwasher, cleaned up the kitchen, swept the floor. ..and guess what he is doing now??????? He is vacuuming. I am about to fall off my chair!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!! He's done good!!!!!!!

Invitations

A friend of mine is having her son's birthday in a few weeks at Chuck E. Cheese. I got the bright idea to offer to make the invitations for her. A few years ago Dollar Tree was selling packs of CEC scrapbook paper and I bought it. I am a nervous wreck about these cards. I make a lot of cards for different occassions. And for the most part I am usually pretty satisfied with the outcome of the card. I am extremely happy about all the Mother's day cards I just made. However I have never made anything for someone that they were planning to send for themself. Below is a picture of the card. You're invited, the RSVP info and the cupcake are all cut from the cricut. The top of the cupcake is colored in my favorite color so far of Stickles. This was the first one I have made and since made 4 made where I added a black strip to the bottom with white ribbon to seperate the patterned paper from the black cardstock. Anyway I just feel like they are too plain or something I don't know. I am driving myself crazy worrying about it though!

Mother's Day cards and one layout

I will post the layout first. I haven't done any layouts this month since this one which was completed on April 4th. I have been to card making focused. This layout is of this little girl I used to babysit. I had so much fun with this page even though I didn't get the sizing right with the letters on my cricut. I am especially proud of myself for using up paper that I think is to pretty to use. I absolutely love this DCWV paper. It has little glittery raised up images on it. So I thought it was perfect that the stamped flowers I made got some bling on them as well and used my much loved Stickles on them. That orange Stickles is so pretty. I also used the Bic Mark-IT markers to color them in. I have since bought the huge pack of the Markits on sale at Wally World for 10 bucks. I love them! Ewww that picture didn't turn out very well.

Now on to the cards. As you can tell six of them have the same design. I got the sketch idea from Got Sketch? and absolutely loved it until I got bored making the same one. Most of the patterned paper is from My Minds Eye, except for the blue, pink and black one and the patterned paper in that one is from Bo Bunny. The flowers are a mixture of Bazzill and three other brands that I don't remember the name of.

So after getting bored with that sketch I went searching for others and came across this one at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I have three more completed that I haven't gotten pictures of yet and I still have five more to complete! And none of them have anything written on the inside yet .....eeeeeek!!!! I will get them done though. I still have a few weeks. And I am really hoping I can get the Wild Cards cartridge for my cricut that would be so awesome and then I could hopefully knock out those last cards no problem! I really have a hard time uploading and getting things to line up properly on here. Is there some easier way to do this without everything looking all jumbled and discombobulated? Have a great day!

I have really been into card making this past week. Last weekend I spent a bunch of time blog hopping and I realized that the majority of the blogs I follow are all card making related. So my creative card making juices got flowing and I made these three cards. All of the paper is My Mind's Eye and I am pretty sure I got all of the ideas for the cards from Card Sketch a Day. I have also been working on Mother's day cards for the past two days. I plan on making 13 and have done six so far. But I have gotten a kind of creative block or just ran out of card making juice for the moment, or just got tired of my desk being over run with stickles, stamp pads, stamps, scissors, circle cutter, etc.etc. etc. I only have a small space to work on and when it is overwhelmed with stuff it makes the space even smaller. GRRR! I will get some pictures of the Mother's day cards that are done tomorrow and put them up.

I read about several people using the cupcake $1 stamp from Michaels and when I was there one day I saw it and thought I would give it a try. I knew right away that whatever I did with it I was going to be adding stickles to it. So since my sisters bday was coming I figured it was a perfect oppurtunity to use the stamp! So I stamped it using StazOn black ink. Then colored the top part with my Bix Mark-It, Fandango pink. I used Fiskars brownish/gold marker for the wrapper. I then had some black Liquid embossing from All Night Media and thought it would be neat if I outlined the wrapper with it and also did that swirly line with it. I actually don't like the way that turned out but whatever. Anyway I used Cotton Candy Stickles on the cup cake it really made the Fandango pink stand out! I love stickles! lol The patterned paper, can't remember who made it but I used my Martha Stewart punch on teh bottom to giv the "lacey" look. The buttons are ????? At first I really didn't like the card and then it grew on me however the crooked ribbon really irritates the crap out of me. I stamped the ribbon with one of my new clear plastic stamps from Michaels. I really love those stamps now and each package comes with so many and using a 50 percent off coupon when you buy them gives you an AWESOME deal! Anyway that's my card!

I have been putting this off all week. No particular reason though. I do wish there was like a magic button you could press and everything was automatically on your blog. Actually I wish there was a magic button for a lot things..laundry, dishes, dinner...lol. Anyway, not to remember what all I was going to blog about..hmmm...Ah yes first will be the 18th scrapbook page I completed over the weekend. I had these pictures sitting on my desk all week and found a cool sketch here. It's 52 Sketches 52 weeks, some really awesome sketches and another awesome site I discovered over the weekend blog hopping. The green paper on the page is actually supposed to be a circle just like the sketch although it didn't come out right. I couldn't figure out how to make a circle that big so I used my cricut and couldn't make it any skinnier than what it came out as. This also has two flowers instead of one which I decided to take several peoples advice and use stickles on them even though I think they are so pretty just plain but it does add an extra bit of pretty to it. I have had this LO sitting on my desk all week and the more I look at it the more bugged I am that the scallop pink strip isn't lined up properly. So I am glad I am finally blogging about it so I can put it away. One other thing about this is the word everything was a MAJOR PAIN IN THE BUTT to get to work. I used my cricut and welded the letters together. For some reason I had to do it four times before it finally cut through the paper properly. The first time was my fault since I didn't have it lined up in DS right. I think it broke into four pieces which is why it looks a big uneven. But to tell you the truth even if it came off in one piece I am pretty sure it would of still been crooked since I can't line up anything ever! I also did another great thing, I used my pretty paper! lol!!!!

Knitting news- I am still working on the March KAL. We did find out on Sunday that it is supposed to be a table runner! We could of finished it early to make it into a dishcloth but I am going to keep on it to make a table runner for my table in the hallway. Here is the picture of what I have completed so far. I am a bit irritated since the scallop edges aren't very scallopy,lol. I think its because my tension is not very consistent or something??? Anyway it looks somewhat better in person.

Other than that I am working on another dishcloth this one as a matter of fact. It is turning out so neat. I am still working on the lapghan for my mom. I shouldn't of started the circle cloth since I told my hubby not to let me start any more patterns until the lapghan was done but the circle cloth was calling my name. I plan to have the lapghan done before Mother's day. hopefully!!

Poor Neptune, we have no clue where he has been for the past 3 days but it must have been traumatic to him. Last night when he came home he rubbed up agaisnt everything he could get his body on. And then after about an hour of that I was sitting at my desk about to get started on making a card for my niece who turns five next week and Neptune plopped himself right in front of me:

Poor thing I don't think he has ever had to experience the "wilderness" in his life. However about an hour after he came home Joey went to let Zina, our dog, out and Neptune went running to be let out too. UH no I don't think so. We won't be going through that again!

My next picture is of these awesome flowers I bought from Cutters Creek I love any type of decorative flowers anyways but I think these are the best I have ever seen! They are made by Bazzill~ I not only recommend you buying them but totally buy them from Cutters Creek, Kim is so awesome! Anyway these flowers are beautiful:

Now on to what I worked on this morning. My niece Vivian will be 5 on April 1. And the theme is Princess! I went to Walmart yesterday and got her a Disney princess cash register thing, this really cute little disney princess purse that came with gloves and a necklace and this "pearl" disney princess necklace and ring. Then I bought a bunch of glittery princess type stuff and spent this morning making a card, decorating the envelope and the gift bag. I don't think i have ever had so much glittery pink stuff in one space in my life! lol Here are the pics:

The bag is on the left, I cut out the Princess Vivian with my cricut but I am really bad at measuring so the P and the last S on princess go off the edge of the bag. I then used two different colors of stickles to outline the letters. I also got some jewels from walmart can't remember the company and the little stars are between each letter of her name. The two crowns and the castle came from this plastic box filled with princess glitter stickers. And to finish it off is pink ribbon that says princess across it. Her card is in the middle, I cut out the five with my cricut and the crown sticker I got from Walmart there is a button at the top of the tiara that you can press and it lights up! I highlighted the five with stickles and also all around the center cardstock. I also got a Martha Stewart thingy to make the decorative edge on the bottom. The envelope is on the right the fives came from my cricut and are decorated with stickles and I wrote out Princess Vivian with stickle as well. The crown is actually supposed to be the backing of the crown that goes on the crown on her card but I didn't realize that until after I pulled it off, I don't want to go there, lol
Here is the inside of her card. Just a quote i found on the internet and I used the Martha Stewart punch to decorate the edge of the white paper.

Last for today is the page I completed last weekend. It is #17 of 52 layouts. I had a heck of a time getting a layout down that I liked. I was determined to use that decorative paper it was so neat and went so well with the pictures. It is glittery plus I just loved the shape of it. I got it in a paper pack from Michaels and now I cannot remember the company that makes it. Anyway it was pain in the butt to figure out a way to lay out the pictures that would work. I cut out the word Teething with my cricut and then highlighted them with of course Stickles! The flowers came in a pack from Michaels I think they are memory makers flowers but I am not sure. The layout says when you your ten months and teething everything goes in your mouth. These are pics of my daughter in 2004.

Neptune came back! We came home from dinner tonight and the guy that lives three doors down was walking down to our house. When we got out of the truck the guy said I think your cat is in my garage. So Nate and Joey went down there and sure enough it was Neptune. Nate had talked to the guy two days ago and the guy said he hadn't seen him so he doesn't think he was in the garage long. So we have no idea what he has been doing for the last three days or where he has been at. I don't think he has ate much since as soon as he came home he went right to his food and started inhaling, he wasn't even chewing. He seems to be pretty shook up and just kinda wandering around the house rubbing up agaisnt everything and purring. Zina, our dog, is totally confused too, lol!

Sad news and updated knits

Well first thing, our cat is missing and it really sucks. He is declawed so we never intended for him to be an outside cat. But we have been having some problems with him spraying,even though he has been fixed and a neighbor suggested letting him outside once in awhile. He said he had a similar experience with his own cat and that worked. He was able to train him to stay in their yard and he stopped spraying in the house. Well at first Neptune was terrified to go outside he was a majory scaredy cat. So we didn't push him. Within the last week he seemed to get more comfortable so when we let our dog out we would let Neptune out as well. Usually he just sat on the back porch and looked around but sometimes he would venture farther but even when he did that he always came right back. Well the other night I let him out by himself he kept on running from the front to the back door mewing and pawing at the door. So I let him out then I went to go get my daughter out of the shower and after that I went to check on him. He was nowhere. My daughter and I went outside in the front and the back looking for him, calling him nothing. When my son and hubby came home they went all over looking for him. Yesterday I drove around our neighborhood several times looking for him and when hubby came home he took our son and they walked all over knocking on people's doors asking. We can't find him anywhere. Ugh! He is such an awesome cat too. He is very cuddly and friend and absolutely loves attention and people. I sure hope he comes home. I just made a flyer and my hubby is going to print it out at work and we are going to hang it up around the neighborhood. Here is a picture of him

Okay now on to my knitting. I finished the blue round cloth the other day. I was so excited it turned out really nice. The only problem its not supposed to have a hole in the middle. But according to my hubby it still looks nice. I have since learned how to close up the hole which is good because as soon as I finished the blue one I started on a similar cloth! Here is the finished blue one:

So then like I said I started another one. I finished it last night. For some reason the ending part, the part that is supposed to make the seam didn't match up so I had to adjust it a little bit. And the stitches in some parts are really loose. But I think it looks nice. I haven't decided what I am going to do with it yet.

The last two knitted related items are going to be the feather and fan cloth I made using Sugar's and Cream self striping yarn. It is so cool. The color reminds me of easter eggs. However it didn't stripe perfectly I wonder if you have to start at a certain spot in the yarn in order for it to stripe evenly. And last but not least is the mystery KAL pattern that I am still working on. I think I am going to make a table runner for the table in the hallway. I have a whole cone of yarn so I should have enough. This looks really neat I love the waves on the sides.
And finally this isn't knitting or scrapbooking related, well I guess it could kinda be scrapbooking related since I used a bunch of my scrap paper to make it plus I also got the idea from a scrapbooking magazine soo...... But anyway this is my blog and if I want to post something unrelated to the topic well than I will! lol Anyway my daughter is in kindergarten and has a list of 40 words she has to learn. I really wish I had done this about four months ago but I guess better late than never. So I bought these business card sized self laminating cards from Wally world and printed out all the words then cut patterned scrap paper to the size I needed and glued the words front and back then laminated them and then punched a hole through them and stuck them on the ring. Her list of words has been hanging by the chair where she eats at and she never looks at it. Now since we have had these she looks at them all the time!

No pictures today. I did get another page finished, actually just about 5 minutes ago. It was actually done yesterday but I bought some more stickles from this awesome online store called Cutter's Creek, so I pulled the page back out this more and stickled the letters on it. Stickles is just so pretty. I have like 8 colors now. I am also close to being done on that blue flower looking dishcloth I am knitting, I can't wait till it's done so I can start another one. The white one is going slow. We only get 5 rows a day but those five rows take awhile because of all the K2T and YO's you have to pay very close attention to each one. I also started a feather and fan patterned cloth in this self striping yarn. The yarn is os pretty its white, lime green, bright purple and bright blue. It reminds me of Easter eggs! I am also still working on my mom's lapghan, actually I haven't worked on it in about a week. Just had to take a break from it for a little bit. I don't think I have put a picture of that on here yet so I think I will do that.

And here it is. I got the pattern from the Creative Knitting magazine. The yarn is the Vanna White yarn. I think its going to be smaller than I wanted but the pattern is so awesome I am going to keep on going anyway. I did buy some extra yarn to make it longer, hopefully anyway. I think that's about it for my scrapbooking and knitting adventures! lol

Mystery KAL's and Pages done!

On Monday I started two Mystery KAL's(knit alongs) from two different yahoo groups I belong to. I have participated in one in a long time and I am so happy I decided to join in on these two. The first one is the white (ecru)yarn on the cone.I have posted two pictures, the first one is after day 2 and the second picture is after day 4. I wasn't sure about this color but the patterned called for like 9 oz. of yarn and I didn't have enough of that yarn in one color so I had to buy a cone from Walmart. This one has a ton of k2t, and YO's but it is looking so pretty and the fact that I have not had to redo any rows so far is really awesome! I can't wait to see what this will look like when its done!

This next one I am so excited about. I am pretty sure if I knew how it was going to turn out I would of not done it all but since I had no clue I gave it a try and am so happy I did and I am already planning the next cloths I am going to make just like it. The first picture was taken I believe after the first day and teh second picture was taken after the 4th day. Isn't it so pretty. I can't wait to try it out on other colors. I had knit two other dishcloths for my mom using oh crap I can't remember the name of the yarn but its the acrylic/cotton combo because my mom says she loves the dishcloth I made her with that and wanted another one, so I made her two. I was planning on sending them out to her today but I am going to wait until this one is done so that I can send her this too.

Now to my scrapbooking, I completed two pages last weekend and started on a third (which is still sitting here on my desk in front of me, its halfway done) Anyway this one is pics from 2004 my daughter was 10 months old and the little girl I was babysitting at the time was 3 months. The lettering for the phrase and their names and ages was all done with my cricut and I added my favorite thing FLOWERS! The black "lines" in that are above and below the word girls is a rub on. I wasn't planning on adding those but GIRLS looked so plain I knew I had to add something and it worked somewhat. I also used a new trick I learned on the word little it is all one word that was "welded" together,I love that feature on the cricut!

I absolutely love the colors on this page. You can't see it very well but my daughter has pajamas on in the picture and they are yellow, pink and purple. The yellow ribbon going down is this felt flowery ribbon stuff I got at Michael's from their $1 bins of ribbon I got pink and orange too its so pretty. I also used stickles on this page which you realy can't tell buts it on the little white journaling box I just added some pink stickles to give it a little more color. And the date is actually written with this liquid embossing stuff. Again the letters and the flourish on the side was made with my cricut. Oh and I discovered something other than regular flowers that i love blingy flowers. Down in the left hand corner is a blingy flower in pink, purple and yellow!

As soon as I finish the flowery/windmill dishcloth I will be posting a picture of it and hopefully adding other ones I have completed successfully. My only concern is that I think I will have to stitch it together to complete it and I have never done that and I am a horrible stitcher so we shall see. And I hope to get finished with this layout in front of me this weekend. I am now up to 16 completed layouts out of 52 and 4 completed dishcloths out of 24! On a totally different topic: TELEVISION: Two of my favorite shows were on this weekend American Idol and Grey's Anatomy. As far as AI goes I totally think it stinks that Alexis went home. She wasn't my favorite but there are few a lot worse than her that should of been the ones to come home and I can't believe she is gone and they are still there. However this is AI and one of these years I will get used to this happening. I would really like Adam to go because he freaks me out and I am so tired of him screaming at me. But apparently people find him hot, sexy and relevant! UGH! And Grey's oh my. My poor Derek and Meredith why do they always have to make them dark and twisty why can't they ever be happy and straight for more than one episode? I so wanted to see a scene of Derek digging in the woods looking for the ring or even funnier Derek, Callie and Hunt in the woods digging for the ring all drunk!

EEEK! I am getting behind.I lost that scrappin mojo I had at the begining of the year. I haven't worked on a layout in a month! Well actually I'm not behind..yet. Its the end of week ten and I have 14 layouts completed and I want to do 52 this year which means a layout a week. So I am ahead by four. I am working on a layout at the moment but since I got my cricut dispite the fact taht I have five million things I can embellish my pages with I can't think of anything past doing this or that on my cricut and then letting it go. Which means all these pretty pretties just sit there. Or I do decided to use something and none of the stuff I have matches my pictures or paper. UGH! I did discover a wonderful new product, well new to me anyway...Stickles!!! Its glitter glue. It is so wonderful and dries so nice. I actually think I talked about it already but that's another thing its been awhile since I updated my blog. I still haven't even added the last layout I did a month ago yet. And it really didn't turn out to bad even though it was a holiday layout and I get panicky when I do holiday layouts. I am excited though because I figured out how to shadow letters on the cricut. Not sure if that's what its called though. I guess it might be since you have to hit the shadow button in order to do it. The layout I am doing right now has the letters on it that I shadowed so when I get that done you will be able to see what I mean. Another thing I have become addicted to is blog hopping. There are such amazing fantastic blogs out there. I love just sitting and looking at all the neat, pretty things people create. And one blog leads me to another one and another one leads me to...well you get the point....Anyway I am now going to add my Fourth of July layout I did a month ago...

July 4th 2004-the stickles on this page is all around the USA. I did the USA and the 4th of July letterin with my cricut. There are also little white flowers next to the USA that are very similar to he hearts in Kaitie's outfit.

On this side the stickles are around the red sworly thing that the fireworks pictures are on.

Anyway that is all for now. I need to get back to this current page I am working on and hopefully have it done by tomorrow!

I actually got my valentine's gift on Wednesday. I couldn't wait until today to get it. Plus Kait hada field trip on Thursday so I needed to get it for that! lol

This is the best camera I have ever had in my entire life! I love it!

I completed this page last weekend. #13! My biggest challenge with this was using pretty paper for it. I have TONS of decorative pattern paper, but I never want to use it because I always think its too pretty and don't want to cover it up with pictures. So my challenge this year is to start using more of my pattern paper. Nate said I should do a layout about my not wanting to use patterned paper and cover the layout in pattern paper!

This two page layout I did like three years ago. Its about my niece when she was born. It is probably one of my most favorite layouts. The VCN on the second page are wood.

I have been knitting and scrapbooking like crazy lately. There are so many things I went to get done on top of everything else that I have to do so I am trying to stay focused and just keep on working on things during my spare time. This is the blanket I started on October23 for my sister. It's the feather and fan pattern used with Homespun yarn. I hope she likes it.

Messy Face-the circles are made with stickles. I was looking at layouts at http://www.scrapjazz.com/ and I one of them had these really pretty circles all over it. I thought they were those gem thingies by Jolees but then when I read her description i saw that she had used stickles and had to try it out myself. Messy face was also my first attempt at welding with design studio and it came out perfect!

I laid this LO down over by my big window and was able to take a lot better picture then the ones I have done in the past. Anyway, I used stickles on this one too. The flowers have magenta and green stickles on it. I don't think I should of put the green squiggly lines down by the words my flowers, it kinda looks weird. But I did successfully weld with Design studio for the words my flowers!

Cricut bag

Ever since I saw that you could make bags with the cricut I have been wanting to make one. They look so neat! So tonight I was cutting out some numbers for the scrapbook page that I am working on and didn't want to waste the whole paper so I tried the bag feature in Plantin Schoolbook. It came out so cute. Just pretty plain because I had no plans to do anything with it but just the thought that I could do it was cool. My daughter has taken it and is filling it up with little things (Hannah Montana eraser, pencil, stickers and a card she made) to give to her friend at school.

See nothing fancy. I have taken a picture of what my daughter has done with it and will share it later.

Cricut to the rescue

So this week is spirit week at my sons school they had different things they had to do or dress up as each day this week. Since its a private school and they have to wear uniforms , Joey wanted to especially participate since they get to dress down if they participate. Anyway tomorrow is their color day, the school colors are red, white and black. SO I found a red tank top of his and pulled out some 2" stencils I bought several years ago and rarely ever use and some black fabric paint and stenciled his name on the back. Then I was about to do use jersey number (he plays basketball) in the same size but he said that was too small he wanted something bigger and was trying to get me to do it free hand!! NOWAY was I going to attempt that so I got my ruler figured out about what size I wanted got some thick cardstock and cut the number 10 using my cricut, took the numbers out and just used the paper as a stencil and it worked perfectly. He keeps on saying how cool it is which makes me feel even better! I then planned on using the 2" stencils to put SCA on the front of his shirt, but thought that would be too small so I went back to the cricut and cut out 4" letters and did it that way. Since the paint takes so long to dry I wasn't able to do the SCA until 11 last night by then Joey was sleeping. So he didn't see it until this morning and he thanked me like 5 times and said how cool it looked.

I was able to complete two more layouts this week! This brings my total up to 8!

Kaitlyn thought that the rub ons were so cool she wanted to do them herself. Unfortunately she pulled off the covering before I was able to make sure everything was rubbed of and she pulled up some of the rub on.

Anyway this is my 7th layout for 2009, you can't reallya tell and she had lots fo fun doing the rub ons.

Here is layout number 8-Christmas in Ohio. I have been trying out different ways to take pictures of my layouts obviously the second picture came out better than the first. However I really like the way these pages turned out. The two gingerbread men I stamped using the christmas Martha Stewart clear stamp set that I got for 2 bucks in walmarts after christmas sale. Oh the christmas tree in the corner as well. Then I embossed them and cut them out then added some glitter glue for added effect. The pocket on the right hand side is kicking my butt becaus I made it a bit to small so it isn't staying sealed and the pictures keep on leaning to the side and making the pocket come unstuck. There is 5 pictures in the pocket including a small thing of journaling.

I got a 25 dollar gift card for Michaels from my sister for Christmas. I didn't use it right away and I am glad. Michaels had a sale on open stock paper last week. It was 7 sheets for $1. I also got a bunch of really cute $1 stamps that I wouldn't of normall bought if it was for the yahoo group that I am in!!!

I have also been able to get 2 more pages completed this week. I have completed 6 out of the 52 I want to get done this year. For some reason though I am not liking any of the pages I am getting done. Its driving me nuts anyway here they are:

This is Kaitlyn's fourth scrapbook page. Done entirely by herself while I was making dinner. She is loving scrapbooking. When we went to Michaels tonight she was going over the list in her head of the things she NEEDED to have! It was cracking me up.

And this is my fourth page of the year. I do not like it all. These pics were taken Halloween 2000. I bought the pirate head and treasure chest at least 5 years ago in anticipation of these pictures however the colors do not go with the page at all and I do not like well anything about this LO other than the pictures. I did the words on my cricut so that was cool, and I do like the color of paper I used but this page is jsut driving me crazy if it wasn't all glued down I would do it over. I really think I should of made the treasure chest in anotther color like white or something i dont' know. Hopefully my next page will make me happy!

This page was done on Friday before I ran out of adhesive. The page title is The Smiffs. The pics were taken in October 2000. This was a scraplift from one of my Creating Keepsakes magazines the best scrapbook magazine I have ever seen! I was a bit mad with myself because usually when I do the three pics on the side like that I put them all on the paper and then cut out the entire thing, however I did them individually and you can tell in person when you look at it where the white paper connects

Kait and her first scrapbook kit! She was so excited when I got this for her yesterday she packed everything up in her backpack and carried it around for the rest of the night. Today we sat down and worked on three pages together. Her doing most of the work. It was hard for me to just sit back and let her "decorate" her pages since a lot of it didn't match or go with the picture. She would say mom this is my scrapbook. By the third page she had total control! lol

No scrappin or knittin done today. I ran out of adhesive last night and got some from walmart today. I looked through all there christmas clearance stuff but only found a few MS stuff as far as crafty stuff was concerned and then it was only glitter and the stamp sheets. I do have to go back tomorrow to check them out again since now I have a better understanding of them thanks to the great (enabling) people in the cricutlovers group. I had a 50 percent off coupon for Michaels and a gift card i was planning on using this week but completely forgot until about an hour ago when I realized the stinking coupon expired...grrr!~ However I still do have the 20 percent off coupon that is in my CK magazine that i can use!!! Better than nothing! The coolest thing I got was my DD her own scrapbook kit. This past week and actually even before that she has been wanting to do crafts with me. It really came up last month when I started working on my christmas cards but I was so busy and in such a rush since I started later than usual I didn't have time to do any with her so I gave her my scraps and then let her look through a huge stack I have of the gift cards you get from different charity organizations and let her glue and stick stuff to her hearts content. I then found some mini gretting card kits at Target for a dollar and thought those were really cool so I got some of those and we did a couple together for her kindergarten teachers. ANyway they had this scrapbook kit on sale at wally world. It came with a book filled with white paper, a bunch of patterned paper, over a thousand stickers, a pair of decorative scissors, a stick of glue(which she was so excited about having her own glue), some pop up dots, about 8 small cards with envelopes, and a ton of other stuff. She was sooooooooooo excited and for once finally listened to me (since she opened it so late) that she could take everything out of the box and out of its wrapping but that once she looked at it we had to put it up until tomorrow. She got one of her old backpacks (another love of hers is any type of bag or purse) and surprisingly gently put everything in her bag. We found an old folder that she could put the paper sheets and sticker sheets in and put all the tiny stuff in plastic baggies. She was so cute with the whole stuff I have never seen her be so aware of things before. She is probably going to dream about it and wake me up first thing in the morning asking me for pictures and if we can scrapbook yet! Oh we went and saw Marley and Me. I just read the book last week! Amazing book and amazing movie! Jen and Owen did a fantastic job! Anyway that has a dog or wants to get a dog or just loves animals go see the movie!

I have gotten two scrapbook pages done using my cricut! The coolest thing is I haven't scrapbooked since like June actually I just checked my last page and make that May.

Bathtime- I have had the bathtub and boy cut out thing for like 5 years now. I bought it specifically for these pictures but it has taken me forever to finally get to them. I cut out bathtime with the cricut only I realized after I did it that I used the wrong color for time so it blends into the other paper. I tried tracing it with black in hopes that it would blend in better.

Nate came up with the title for this page.

The first time I took I picture I thought i was missing something but didn't realize till the next day when the swirly things were found under my desk that that is what I was missing,lol.

And since this is also a knitting blog here is the blanket i have been working on since Oct. 23 for my sister and her hubby. One day I hope to finish it! lol

I got a Cricut for Christmas! This thing is so fantastic! I wish there was more hours in the day so that I could knit, scrapbook as much as I want but still be able to spend plenty of time with the kids, hubby, study real estate, cleaning the house, etc. etc. etc. Ahwell

This just shows my scrapping area. We had to buy the desk that the cricut is on because I had no where else to put it. The file cabinet unfortunately is not filled with scrapbooking stuff, though. Other than that pretty much everything else is scrap related!

I just finished this one over the weekend. The letters Spring are chipboard letters that I painted and then put paper glaze on that made them glossy and pop. This was from 2000.

This is the second half of the above layout. The butterflies, birds and flowers are all chipboard.

This is the first time I have attempted stitching on anything. I have the Sew Crafty Mini and I have had it for about 3 years. I tried it out when I first got it but couldn't figure it out. I pulled it out yesterday and gave it another try. I still don't have the hang of it but I gave it a shot. You can see the stitches are crooked at the end but this is the best attempt to date.

The multi colored one is the feather and fan pattern, they yellow and blue one is grandmothers favorite and the blue one has a lighthouse on it.

At the time I took this picture these were both wip, however they are now both done..lol. I have yet to take a pictuer of them. The pink is a dishcloth with a steaming cup of coffee in the middle. The green and white one I don't think has a name. The title on the pattern just says knitted dishcloth and towel. I haven't started on the towel yet though only because I really really really hate this color. lol

So as I said before I absolutely love the Feather and Fan pattern and decided to make several of them for Mother's Day gifts. Here are four of the ones I have done. I have a total of 8 done and still need to make 2 more. I had to take a break because even though I love making this pattern it gets boooooooooooooooooooooooring!

This one is my favorite so far. Mainly because I took a chance and did it. I am in a monthly dishcloth group, have been in the group for about a year, but have never participated in any of the KAL until this month. The first dishcloth was a really neat one with three crosses I sent that one to my mom and completely forgot to get a picture of it. The second KAL of the month usually has stitches that I have never tried before, just like this one. I thougth what the heck and tried it anyway. I had a few problems at the begining and had to rip it out a few times but by the second day I did fine as long as I went slow and paid attention. I still ended up having to rip out a few stitches here and then but never more then one row thankfully! I don't think it looks the greatest, especially compared to some of the others I have seen but it's mine and I finished it and I am happy!!!!

This is only the 2nd dishcloth I have made for myself. Considering I have made over 20 dishcloths since August 06, thats saying something. This is such an awesome pattern though. Its the same pattern I am using to make my daughters blanket, the feather and fan, I love washing dishes with it! lol It is such an easy pattern too. I love it so much I am making a bunch of them for Mother's Day gifts. I have done 4 1/2 more so far!

Yea! I actually got finished with it before her turned five!!! lol And actually finished it before he turned one. This is my nephews finished blanket. It looks like it is 2 colors in the picture for some reason but it is not. I never even noticed till my aunt pointed it then I freaked out because it was supposed to be all one color. But my sister assures me that it is one color, its the lighter of the two yellows.

scarf for my mom

Well I finally finished my mom's scarf. Not that it took all that long but now that I am done with the scarf I can finally start working on my nephews blanket again. I have done anything with it since September. I am hoping to get done with it this month! I have also started scrapbooking again. Done two pages so far. One of which has been sitting on my desk ready to glue down since September. I just couldn't get the inspiration or motivation to finish.

The thank you card is for some friends that gave us a washing machine. My hubby liked the card I made him so much he asked me to make them one. I really like the way it turned out. I decorated the envelope for it as well.

Its been a long time since I posted here. I have been busy, not only knitting but I picked up a new habit card making and resumed an old one, running. I spent almost all of December knitting dishcloths and dishtowels for Christmas presents for the women in my family. This is a picture of a few of the dishtowels. And below that is a washcloth I did for my nephew. It is so soft and cute!

This is the dishcloth and towel set I made for my mil for her birthday a few weeks ago. I absolutely love the way the towle turned out. This is the pattern I plan to use to make for Christmas presents. I have mostly been working on my daughters' blanket lately. I messed up the other day and screwed up the pattern. I didn't rip it out though. To afraid it will screw up the yarn. I can't figure out how I screwed up though I think I may have just skipped a row or something. I wish I could figure it out so that I don't do it again. I am almost done with the first bundle of yarn, only 2 more to go.
